Jennifer Ann Gillins, Children's Book Author
Mark your calendars for "Acadia Fairies" coming soon! More information coming to purchase your own copy.
Coming out soon is Jennifer’s first publicly published book, “Acadia Fairies”. This children’s picture book is about a mother fairy, Pippa, looking for her son in the Acadia National Park. Pippa searches real locations in the park, and seeks help from animals, amphibians, and birds native to the park. The rhythm and rhyme of the story, along with colorful pictures by Nero Bernales, will delight children.
Jennifer Ann Gillins’s book, “Yellowstone Fairies” is the first in a series of national park fairy adventures.
“Yellowstone Fairies” tells of a fairy colony nestled in a faraway forest of Yellowstone National Park. Princess Batina and her fairy colony live in an underground stone den near a colorful hot spring. The clever, curious fairies are surrounded by other species that are different from themselves. Each group of animals and insects lives separately until forces compel them to cooperate. The fairies team up with bees and buffalo in the face of danger from weasels, wasps, wolves, and winter weather.
Underlying the story is the message of hope. It’s a hope that even though we are different from each other we can still be friends and help one another. Jennifer’s hope is that children, and everyone who reads the book, will recognize that differences can be overcome. Regardless of genetics, culture, creed, or religion she believes we can all be accepting and loving to one another. That’s the premise of her book.
Included at the end of “Yellowstone Fairies” is a Fun Facts Page of information related to Yellowstone National Park. How big is Yellowstone National Park? Why do the hot springs have different colored levels? What does a mud pot look like? What kinds of animals live in the park? What sound does a fumarole make? Find out the answers to these questions and more at the end of “Yellowstone Fairies”.
